LAHORE: Inspector General of Police Capt Usman Anwar and Lahore Capital City Police Officer Bilal Siddique Kamyana on Friday visited the residence of SSP Imran Kishwar to motivate and convince him to withdraw his resignation.

Both the senior police officers went to the residence of Imran Kishwar when he didn’t visit his office on Friday to discharge his assignment as DIG administration at the CCPO office.

Mr Kishwar who was heading the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing May 9 cases, had resigned from the Police Service of Pakistan on Thursday after he was not considered for promotion to grade 20 by the Central Selection Board (CSB) held on Thursday.There were reports that the IG and CCPO tried their automost to convince him to review his decision. He was informed that he had been placed in the category of ‘performance watch’, which means he has another chance to be considered for the promotion to the next grade in the next CSB meeting.

“The board, for a reason recorded in writing, decided to observe his performance for a period not exceeding 12 months before making a promotion decision”, the official was told by the IG.
