SHANGLA: The residents of Puran tehsil of Shangla district have demanded of the government to appoint tehsildar at the local tehsil office as the post has been vacant for the last three months, causing problems to them in registration and transfer of property and other official work.
They told journalists on Saturday that they were forced to visit district headquarters Alpuri for land registration and property transfer and other official works related to tehsildar.
They said that the post of tehsildar had been vacant for the last three months and despite repeated requests to local MPA the post was yet to be filed.
Jan Bahadar, a local, said they had to visit Alpuri that was located at distance of 70 kilometres from Puran. He said that poor people could not afford expenses and fares to pay constant visits to Alpuri for their official works.
He said that the entire Puran circle had been suffering owing to absence of tehsildar in Puran. He said that he himself made several visits to Alpuri for his personal work but he was concerned for other people.
`Our political leaders only visit us during elections but then they forget us and even not bother to hear us to address our core issues,` said Mr Bahadar.
Murad Shahzad Yousafzai, another local, said that in most cases elderly, even families, paid visits to Alpuri for property transfer and faced problems, especially in Ramazan as they could not find transport for their return journey.
He said that they had informed the leader of opposition in provincial assembly, Ibadullah Khan, about the issue but to no avail. Locals demanded of government to fill the vacant post of tehsildar as soon as possible to resolve the problems of people.
