LAHORE: The Anti-Corruption Establishment has booked eight people, including a deputy tehsildar, sub-registrar and a patwari, for allegedly seizing a widow’s plot through fraud in Faisalabad.

According to complainant Nafeesa Tariq, widow of Tariq Farooq Sindhu, Faizan Shakoor Sindhu, Asad Iqbal, and Muhammad Adil Hafeez allegedly conspired with Deputy Tehsildar Rana Muhammad Irfan, Sub-Registrar Malik Shahid (Registry Branch 1, Faisalabad), a registry clerk, and the patwari concerned to fraudulently transfer ownership of her late husband’s plot in Gulberg Green, Islamabad.

She said the plot legally belonged to her after her husband’s death, as they had no children. However, Faizan allegedly forged a fake general power of attorney in his own name, with the collusion of other suspects. The accused then sold the plot to Umar Khayyam, depriving her of her rightful property.
