KASUR: A man and his young son were burnt to death in the kitchen fire caused by the gas leakage when they were preparing Sehri at village Karamabad in the limits of Pattoki Police Station.

Muhammad Ishaq, 60, and his son Shoaib, 20, went to prepare food for Sehri but the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder had leaked. When they tried to turn on the stove, the kitchen caught fire and Ishaq and Shoaib suffered serious burns.

The injured were shifted to the tehsil headquarters hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.

Police handed over the bodies to the family after legal formalities.

DROWNS: A toddler drowned in a tub in the washroom of his house at village Bhadian Kalan in the area of the Ganda Singh Police Station.

Mustafa, 3, was playing when fell into the water tub and drowned. The family rushed the baby to the DHQ Hospital where the doctors declared him dead.

SENTENCE: An additional district and sessions court awarded an imprisonment for three years and a fine worth Rs300,000 to the complainant in a rape case and released two accused.

The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Farzana Shahzad found two nominated accused, Zohaib and Zaigham, innocent in the case and awarded two years punishment and Rs300,000 fine to the complainant of the case for registering a fake case.

The judgement said the complainant had been using the woman as a tool to trap the people.
