MUZAFFARGARH: Thirty-eight people, including eight nominated, were booked by Jatoi police for misbehaving with an assistant commissioner and attacking his team.

The AC was informed that some shopkeepers were deducting amounts from the beneficiaries of Ramazan Nigahban Package. He along with his guards and staff reached the Liaqat Hussain Karyana Store where some private agents, namely Sohail, Sharafat and an unidentified person, were keeping 27 Ramazan Nigahban pay orders illegally.

Two suspects fled from the spot while an unidentified man was arrested.

After some time, the agents called 30 other persons to spot, including Tufail, Fazal, Ayub, Danish, Mujahid, Muhammad Saleem, who tried to attack the AC and his team and got the arrested man released. They insulted the AC, misbehaved with him and resorted to aerial firing. The Shehr Sultan police reached the spot and arrested one person while others fled from the spot.

The police registered a case against eight identified and 30 unidentified people with Jatoi Police Station on the complaint of Naib Tehsildar Mazhar Yazdani.

The FIR alleged that the mob misbehaved with AC and his gunmen, tore their uniform and took away Rs21,000 cash and service card.

Deputy Commissioner Quratul Ain said stern action would be taken against the suspects.

RECOVERED: Mir Hazar Police Station recovered a kidnapped woman from the suspects.

According to the details, Irshad Mai and her husband Riaz got up for fasting and found that their daughter-in-law Samina was missing. They complained to the police who recovered the kidnapped woman, a mother of five, within just four hours.

According to the police, the woman’s husband was in Karachi for work. She had some fight at home and left it. She reached the house of her opponents who kept her there by force.

Police used modern technology and human resources, recovered the woman and arrested the suspects.
