LAHORE: The department of psychiatry & behavioral sciences of Fatima Jinnah Medical University, in collaboration with the ANF organised a seminar for the awareness, prevention and treatment of drug-related diseases.

ANF Commander and Regional Director Brig Sikandar Hayat Chaudhry, FJMU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Masood Gondal and senior faculty members of the university attended the seminar.

Prof Khalid Masood Gondal emphasised the significance of the seminar, highlighting the importance of timely awareness, prevention and treatment in combating the diseases.

Sikandar Hayat emphasised the importance of collective efforts in combating drug abuse, stressing that it is a societal issue that requires cooperation with the state.

The ANF regional director shared some facts about drug abuse, noting that weakness in faith, depression, and stress are primary reasons for addiction among younger generations.

He advocated for special attention to children and promoted strengthening faith, self-confidence, strong family ties, and healthy activities as effective solutions to prevent drug abuse.
