TAXILA: A murder convict was slapped with a death sentence and 16-year imprisonment for killing a man and injuring another over an old feud in June 2023 in the limits of Wah Cantonment police station.

The judge also imposed a fine on the convict.

According to the FIR registered under sections 302 and 311 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), Asif Khan stabbed Abdullah to death while critically injuring Nasir over some old enmity and fled away.

Later, the police arrested him from his hideout through human and digital intelligence.

During the trial, the prosecution produced substantial evidence against the nominated accused which established the involvement of Asif in the murder.

Subsequently, the judge, after hearing the arguments of defence and prosecution counsels announced the verdict as the convict was found guilty of killing the victim.
