IN the year 2007, the Naushahro Feroze district government started the const-ruction of an auditorium between the District Complex and the Circuit House. Now, 17 years later, as can be seen in the accompanying image, the auditorium has not been completed, and is still not usable.
As a result, the educational and cultural city of Naushahro Feroze remains deprived of a platform where seminars, literary conferences, cultural events and stage plays may be organised.
The matter has been raised several times with the relevant authorities, a lot of complaints have been filed, and even the media has highlighted the issue, but all that the authorities have ever said on the matter is that there are budget constraints.
At a time when society is in dire need of positive academic and cultural activities, it is sad to deny the people of Naushahro Feroze such a basic right.
The relevant stakeholders should ensure the completion of the said auditorium so that the local people may also have a dig-nified and quality academic and cultural environment.
Depriving people of the city of a venue for learning and cultural activities despite having a structure is nothing but unfair.
