SAHIWAL: A mother of six was allegedly killed by her husband and two sons for honour here on Thursday in Pak Avenue Colony.

Reports said 40-year-old Rubina Bibi was brutally killed by her husband Muhammad Mansha and their two sons Arsalan and Adnan.

As per the first information report, Rubina returned home at 2am and she was overpowered by her husband Mansha and son Adnan while Arsalan fatally attacked her with a knife, slitting her throat. Rescue 1122 was called, but she succumbed to her injuries before they arrived.

Farid Town police have registered a murder case (432/25) against Mansha and his sons under sections 302 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code based on a complaint filed by the victim’s brother, Husnain Hyder, a resident of 86/6-R, Sahiwal city.

DPO Rana Tahir confirmed to Dawn that the police arrested the prime suspects, Arsalan and Muhammad Mansha.

Rubina Bibi had married Muhammad Mansha, a private contractor in the Buildings Department, in 2001. Over their 23-year marriage, the couple moved through several rented homes before settling in Pak Avenue Colony. They had four daughters and two sons.

According to the complainant, Mansha and his sons suspected Rubina of having an affair, which led to the incident.

Police records reveal that on Aug 18, 2024, Mansha had previously filed a kidnapping case, accusing a man named Faisal, his sister Ramsha, residents of Baba Masat Colony, 86/6-R, and an unidentified individual of abducting Rubina from their home in Bashir Colony. The FIR also alleged that she had taken away five tolas of gold and Rs 90,000 in cash.

However, investigations later revealed that Rubina had willingly left with Faisal. Faisal’s sister, Ramsha, was a close friend of Rubina’s since before their marriages, as they had lived in the same village. A local Panchayat later intervened, leading to Rubina’s return to Mansha’s home.

Police suspect that the murder was committed after Mansha and his sons learnt that Rubina was still meeting Faisal. On the night of the murder, she had reportedly returned home after being dropped off by Faisal.

SHOOTOUT: An alleged outlaw was killed by Kalyana police near Budh Mian Jalal Akbar, Tehsil Pakpattan on Wednesday night.

According to police, three suspects were traveling on a motorcycle when a police team near Kot Bahawal attempted to stop them.

The suspects, coming from the Hota side, ignored police signals and sped away. A chase ensued, and near Budh Mian Jalal, the suspects opened fire on the police van. The officials retaliated, leading to a shootout that lasted 10-15 minutes.

After the exchange of gunfire, police found the body of an unidentified dacoit at the scene, while the other two suspects managed to escape under the cover of darkness.

Police have launched an investigation to determine the identity and background of the deceased.

A case has been registered against three unknown suspects under sections 302, 324, 353, 186, and Section 13-2(a) of PPC and The Punjab Arms (Amendment) Ordinance 2015, based on a complaint filed by ASI Muhammad Razaq.
