LAHORE: Three fraudsters were arrested for deceitful activities at the Lahore General Hospital (LGH) and the Punjab Institute of Neurosciences (PINS) on Thursday.

The suspects, Sarfraz, Ahmed and Ihsan, were operating from a private store located outside the hospital, targeting individuals from remote areas.

They would exploit the patients by promising immediate medical tests, charging them more than the government prescribed fees.

According to a press release, multiple complaints were received from the patients at both hospitals, including one case in which a female patient specifically identified the suspects involved in illegal activities.

In response, the hospital administration devised a strategy to interrogate the suspects which confirmed their involvement.

Subsequently, General Hospital MS Dr Faryad Hussain and PINS MS Dr Umar Ishaq notified the hospital’s police post, leading to the arrest of three suspects.

Police also registered a case on the request of DMS Dr Adnan Khalid at PINS.
