LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday announced 19 women players to attend the second phase of the national training camp, which is being held at the Ghani Glass ground from Friday to finalise the team for the ICC World Cup qualifier next month.
The qualifier will be held in Lahore from April 9 to 19 at the Gaddafi Stadium and the LCCA ground.
The camp is a continuation of the first phase of the preparation, where 33 players took part in a month-long camp in Faisalabad last month.
Among the players, Tuba Hassan, who was part of the Faisalabad camp, has been ruled out of the tournament due to a fractured finger while experienced all-rounder Nida Dar has been recalled to the camp.
The six-team ICC event will feature Bangladesh, Ireland, Scotland, Thailand and West Indies alongside hosts Pakistan.
The teams will feature in a round-robin format where each team play against one another. The top two sides amongst the six teams will qualify for this year’s Women’s World Cup.
Former Test cricketer Mohammad Wasim will conduct the camp as head coach.
