LAHORE: Pakistan Railways (PR) has decided to give 20 per cent discount in fares on all local and express passenger trains.

The discount will be applicable in all classes (economy, sleeper, AC sleeper, executive etc) and it will be effective for all three days of Eidul Fitr, according to official sources.

“The rail administration has reached a consensus that the passengers must be offered discounted fare in all classes of all trains during three days of Eid. A notification will also be issued on Saturday after being signed by the authorities concerned,” a senior official said while talking to Dawn on Friday.

However, the official said, the discounted fare will not be applicable for four Eid special trains out of which three would be operated before two days and one on last day of Eid.

Those desiring for advance booking would also be able to get discounted fare facility. All ticketing/reservation offices across the country have been directed to start booking in this regard.
