LAHORE: An unidentified woman and a minor girl were found allegedly murdered in an open drain in the North Cantonment area on Friday.

Lahore Cantonment Division SP Awais Shafiq said the identity of the woman and the girl could not be ascertained so far.

He said the minor girl might be the daughter of the woman and according to the initial police inquiries, both were strangled by the unidentified suspect(s) who threw their dead bodies into the open drain.

The SP said the police teams had been assigned the task to examine the nearby safe city cameras to trace the suspects.

The bodies have been shifted to the city morgue for autopsy, he said, adding that a case has been registered.
