PESHAWAR: Senior journalist and Nowshera Press Club president Mushtaq Paracha has passed away due to cardiac arrest.

He was later laid to rest in his native graveyard in Banar area of Nowshera Kalan.

His funeral prayers were attended by adviser to the prime minister Pervez Khattak, minister Mian Khaliqur Rehman, religious leader Pir of Manki Sharif Pirzada Shamsul Amin, provincial president of the Awami National Party Mian Iftikhar Hussain, former information minister Barrister Mian Feroz Jamal Shah Kakakhel.

The participants included journalists, political, social and religious activists, and government officers.

Mr Paracha was the father of Engineer Yousuf Ishaq Paracha and brother of principal of Government Higher Secondary School Nowshera Cantonment No 1 Iftikhar Paracha and Uzair Paracha. He worked as a journalist for around four decades.

The Nowshera Press Club held a condolence meeting in which participants paid tribute to Mushtaq Paracha for his journalistic services.
