LAHORE: The Punjab government has revised the wheat release price fixed on Dec 27 last year and notified Rs2,900 as the new release price of 40 kg wheat (inclusive bardana) throughout the province.

The notification issued by the Punjab Price Control and Commodities Management (PCCM) says all terms and conditions mentioned in Punjab Wheat Release and Flour Distribution Order 2024 shall remain the same.

A department’s spokesman says the Punjab cabinet had earlier permitted the release of 1.2 million metric tonnes of wheat, which had been sold now. On the chief minister’s instruction, the PCCM has decided to release wheat from government godowns.
