SUKKUR: A sixth person, son of a clan elder, was shot dead in the long-running honour killing dispute between the Golo and Khoso communities of Kandhkot on Saturday.

In the fresh incident, armed Golos riding several motorcycles shot dead, Rafique Ahmed Khoso, the son of chief muqadam Munir Khan Khoso. Rifique’s cousin, Imran, was wounded in the attack carried out in the Awan locality, falling within the limits of the C-Section police station. The victims were also riding a motorbike when they came under attack.

Onlookers transported the victims to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced Rafique dead on arrival and referred Imran to a major hospital in Sukkur due to his critical condition.

Armed men from the two sides had taken up positions within their respective localities causing fear, panic and tension in the entire area.
