DURING a recent visit to the Mazar-i-Quaid, I observed that the grass and plants in many parts surrounding the mausoleum were dry and unwatered, making the area look neglected. The trees appeared withered and covered in dirt, further diminishing the beauty and dignity of the place. Additionally, litter and general uncleanliness gave a poor impression to the visitors, both local and international. Such negligence reflects poorly on our respect for the Father of the Nation and our collective commitment to preserving our heritage.

The mausoleum is more than just a historical landmark; it is a place of ins-piration and a symbol of patriotism for millions. The authorities, including the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) and the management responsible for the mausoleum’s upkeep, must take immediate steps to restore its dignity. A dedicated team should ensure continuous mainte-nance so that the site remains a symbol of national pride.

The authorities concerned and the citizenry at large should take the matter seriously. The preservation of our heritage is a collective responsibility, and such an important monument should never be left in a state of neglect. The Mazar-i-Quaid deserves to regain its rightful grandeur.
