RAWALPINDI: In connection with Pakistan Day on Sunday different functions were held in the garrison city, which were attended by a large number of people.
Rawalpindi Arts Council organised tableau, speech and national song competitions. The event featured enthusiastic participation from students and young artists. The guest of honour at the prize distribution ceremony was Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Culture Shazia Rizwan.
Speaking on the occasion, Shazia Rizwan stated that seeing such patriotic enthusiasm in our young generation filled her heart with immense pride.
“These competitions not only keep our history alive but also inspire the youth to play an active role in shaping Pakistan’s bright future. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all participants and winners,” she added.
Shazia Rizwan said Pakistan Day provided us with an opportunity to renew our commitment to work tirelessly for the progress, prosperity and stability of our country.
“March 23, 1940, is a milestone in our history when the Muslims of the subcontinent resolved to establish a separate homeland. Today, we must promote national unity with the same passion and instill patriotism in our younger generation through cultural and educational activities,” she said.
Director of Arts Council Sajjad Hussain emphasised that Pakistan Day was a glorious chapter in our national history, reminding us of unity, sacrifice and determination.
Assistant Director Mohammad Suleman said that Pakistan’s future lay in the hands of our youth.
“It is our duty to provide them with an environment where they can utilise their talents for the betterment of the country. Let us pledge today to strive tirelessly to turn the dreams of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal into reality and build a developed and prosperous Pakistan,” Mr Suleman said.
Shazia Rizwan also distributed certificates and prizes among the winners of the competitions, encouraging them to continue expressing their patriotism through creative and literary arts.
Meanwhile, Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, Barrister Danyal Chaudhry, marked Pakistan’s 85th National Day with a visit to Government Associate College for Women, Rawalpindi.
During his visit, he announced critical initiatives to address the college’s infrastructure, transportation and clean drinking water challenges, pledging immediate governmental support.
In his address, Barrister Danyal honoured the visionary leadership of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and the relentless efforts of the nation’s forefathers in realising Allama Iqbal’s dream of a separate homeland.
