LAHORE: The Baloch Students Council (BSC), Punjab, on Sunday demanded the government end, what they alleged, excessive use of violence in Balochistan.
The BSC, Progressive Students Collective (PSC), Progressive Students Alliance (PSA), Seraiki Students Council, Pashtun Students Council and social activists held a rally outside Lahore Press Club against the killing of peaceful protesters in Quetta and illegal detention of Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) head Dr Mahrang Baloch and others.
A large number of Baloch students, including girls and boys, civil society members and political parties’ workers were present in the protest.
The protesters were carrying placards inscribed with slogans to release BYC activists. They chanted slogans against the Balochistan government and security forces for opening fire at peaceful protesters in Quetta, resulting in the killing of three people, including a minor boy. They also condemned the government action against the peaceful protesters and arrest of Dr Mahrang Baloch and others two days ago.
