TOBA TEK SINGH: Additional District and Sessions Judge Abdul Hafeez Bhutta on Monday handed down death sentence and a Rs1 million fine to a man and his son in his daughter’s murder case.

The 22-year-old woman was murdered on March 18, 2024, in Chak 477-JB, Allowal. A video that went viral on social media showed her being strangled by both convicts Abdul Sattar and his son Faisal. They killed her after she had conceived a pregnancy.

Toba Saddar police arrested both convicts 17 days after the murder.

Another son of the convict Shahbaz disclosed during the investigation that a day before her murder, the deceased had told him that both her father and brother had repeatedly assaulted her on different occasions.

The elder sister of deceased Kausar Parveen informed the police that when she arrived at her parents’ house after being informed about the death, she found her sister dead. While bathing the body, she noticed torture marks.

Her body was later exhumed, and the autopsy report confirmed that the bones in her neck were broken and torture marks were evident. The court acquitted another brother of the deceased and his wife, giving them the benefit of the doubt.

FIA: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested Muhammad Akram Oad, alias Ali Khan, on Monday at the Sahianwala M-4 Interchange on charges of human smuggling.

An FIA official said the suspect was involved in arranging illegal travel for citizens and was part of an international network. His gang helped illegal migration from Pakistan to Libya, Russia, Italy and other European countries using fake visas. The official said that four Pakistani passports were recovered from him.

The suspect’s accomplices are reportedly in Dubai and Libya, and Interpol is assisting in their arrest. Cases had also been registered against him in Peshawar by the FIA a few years ago.

KIDNAP: An 11-year-old girl was kidnapped in the Haveli Bahadur Shah locality of Shorkot tehsil.

Complainant Ghulam Mustafa lodged an FIR with Waryam Wala police under Section 363 of the PPC that his daughter Anila Bibi was a domestic help at the house of Syed Samar Abbas. She went to a grocery shop on March 14 and never returned.

The police made a six-member team to recover the girl.

ACCIDENT: Two motorcycle riders were killed in a head-on collision near Chak 197 RB Bhagianwala on Dryport Road on Sunday night.

Reports said the accident occurred due to speeding. The deceased were identified as 18-year-old Ismail of Hameed Town and 40-year-old Ubaidur Rehman of Chak Mananwala.

Also, seven people, including a motorway police constable, were injured when a car crashed into a motorway police vehicle near the Jaranwala service area at the Faisalabad Interchange on the M-3 motorway on Sunday night.

Reports said the policemen had stopped a speeding trailer for a challan when a car coming from behind hit the police vehicle, causing it to smash into the trailer. Five car passengers, all from the same family, were injured. They included two women, two children, and a man. The injured also included Constable Muhammad Sufian, 38, and trailer conductor Ali Hassan, 25.

All injured were shifted to Jaranwala THQ Hospital.

ROBBERY: Robbers killed a milk van owner on Monday near Thikriwala Chak 77-JB, Mullanpur, in Faisalabad.

Reports said Muhammad Sarwar was returning home after supplying milk when two gunmen intercepted him at gunpoint. When he tried to speed away, they opened fire and killed him.
