RAWALPINDI: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi on Tuesday caught seven students red-handed while cheating during SSC-I exams.

According to BISE Rawalpindi spokesman Arslan Cheema, five students were caught cheating at the Government High School Ban Shaheed, Jhelum and two students were caught at Government High School Kamra, Attock and Government High School Bagga, Jhelum.

He said that “unfair means” cases were immediately registered against all the candidates including one private candidate and six regular ones.

The cases were forwarded to the discipline branch for further action.

He said that matriculation part-I exams have been kicked off in the division.

Mr Cheema said that 128,000 students appeared in 406 examination centres across the division.

He said that BISE Rawalpindi Chairman Muhammad Adnan Khan made it clear that there would be no tolerance for cheating.

He added that the BISE chairman also visited various examination centres in Rawalpindi.

Mr Cheema said that strict monitoring was being conducted at all the examination centres with the help of the special branch of police. He said that the violation of standard operating procedures was not allowed. Strict disciplinary action will be taken after registration of FIRs against violators.
