OKARA: A 14-year-old girl confessed to killing her father a week after the incident, as he opposed her choice of marriage, police said.

On March 18 in Momi Wala village, Dipalpur, Hafiz Allah Ditta was found shot dead while asleep in the courtyard of his house. His brother Amanat Ali lodged an FIR against four unidentified assailants under sections 302 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code. He said they had fled on two motorcycles.

The police examined postmortem findings and family call records, leading to a breakthrough. During interrogation, victim’s daughter Omme Habiba admitted to shooting her father as he opposed her love marriage.

The murder weapon was also recovered, according to a police handout.

Also, Ravi police solved a two-month-old murder case in Mauza Lasharian, where Muhammad Iqbal was shot dead.

Police arrested suspects Bilal, Ali Subjan, Saleem and Ayub and recovered the murder weapon and motorcycles used in the crime.

ACCIDENT: A couple riding a motorcycle was killed when a bus hit them on Renala Bypass near Link 10/1L village road.

Hidayatullah, 50, and his wife, Sabiran Bibi, were residents of Renala Khurd.

Rescue 1122 shifted their bodies to Renala THQ Hospital.

Separately, two workers, Osama Hanif and Malook Ahmad, suffered multiple injuries when a compressor exploded at a workshop in Basti Rahimbuxh, Renala.

Rescue 1122 provided first aid and transported them to DHQ South City Okara Hospital.
