LAHORE: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) on Wednesday approved four development schemes with an approximate cost of over Rs5 billion.

The PDWP’s 71st meeting of the fiscal year 2024-25, chaired by P&D Board Chairman Barrister Nabeel Awan, approved rehabilitation of 18 kilometres Gujrat-Sargodha Road (Section Gujrat City to Mungowal), district Gujrat, at a cost of Rs1.24 billion.

The working party approved widening/ improvement of 55 kilometres single road from Noorpur Thal to Jhang Road via Daduwala, Shah Hussain, district Khushab, with an estimated cost of Rs1.37 billion.

The PDWP approved a scheme of revival of the citrus sector in Punjab at the cost of Rs1.4 billion. It also approved establishment of 125-bedDHQ hospital in district Chiniot at the cost of Rs1.01 billion.

The meeting was attended by P&D Board secretary Dr Asif Tufail, board members and other senior officers.

TRANSFER/ POSTING: The Punjab government transferred Punjab Food Authority director Muhammad Usman Ashraf and posted him as deputy secretary (general) at the office of chief secretary against a vacant post.

The government transferred additional commissioner (revenue), Gujranwala, (presently attending 37th Senior Management Course) Aftab Ahmad and directed him to report to the S&GAD for further orders.

Under transfer as additional secretary, PCBL, Shabbir Hussain Cheema has been posted as additional commissioner (revenue), Gujranwala.
