LAHORE: Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) has announced the winner of the fifth IA Rehman Research Grant for 2025.

Researcher Syeda Armeen Nasim has been awarded the grant and she will study youth perspectives on the rise of ethno-religious nationalism in India and Pakistan and its implications for human rights and cross-border relations. Her findings will be published and disseminated by HRCP.

Instituted in honour of the veteran journalist, human rights defender, and former honorary spokesperson of HRCP, the IA Rehman Research grant is intended to facilitate original research carried out in human rights in Pakistan and, this year, in the wider South Asian region. This year’s recipient was selected by an independent committee of lawyers, journalists and human rights defenders.
