KHUZDAR: Six people were killed and 14 others injured in a collision between two passenger buses in the Kalat area, police said.

Police said that the Karachi-bound passenger bus coming from Quetta was hit by another bus coming from the opposite side in the early hours of Friday.

According to locals and police sources said overspeed resulted in the collision.

“Six persons have been killed on the spot and 14 other passengers were injured,” a senior police official said.

He said that police rushed to the site and shifted the bodies and injured to district hospital, while the seriously injured were referred to the civil hospital.

Some of the victims were identified as Syed Haroon Rasheed, Syed Mohabat Ali, Syed Jamil Shah and Abdulla, according to police. Their bodies were handed over to the heirs after completing medico-legal formalities.
