THE longstanding issues faced by the residents of Old Golimar have been getting worse with time. The area has been left high and dry, suffering from a severe lack of basic facilities, such as electricity, water and natural gas, making life nothing short of an uphill battle for the area residents. This has been taking a heavy toll on their mental health.

The residents have registered many complaints, but the relevant authorities seem to have turned a blind eye, leaving the people to fend for themselves.

The elected politicians make tall promises before every election, but once they come to power, they wash their hands off all responsibility. The residents are fed up with false assurances, and are now simply waiting for some miracle to happen.

It is time for the authorities concerned to wake up and take immediate steps to address the problems the people of the area have been facing for long. The people of Old Golimar surely deserve genuine efforts rather than empty commitments.
