LARKANA: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari chaired a meeting of Larkana district officials and senior party leaders at Naudero House on Saturday and directed them to ensure expeditious work on various development schemes in his home constituency.

Deputy Commissioner Sharjeel Noor Channa briefed the meeting about the completed development schemes and pace of work on the ongoing ones.

The DC said that 32 kilometres of roads were built to connect villages with Larkana city whereas construction and repair works on 27 other roads were in progress.

The DC said that 20 schools within the constituency, NA-194, were fully converted to solar power and 17 small bridges were built over different water channels.

Reconstruction of a dozen health facilities, damaged during the 2022 floods, was carried out, he said, adding that the Wagan Road, connecting Larkana with the Indus Highway, was made dual carriageway.

He informed the meeting that the Shahrah-i-Hayat Mohammad Khan Sherpao was widened from SSP Office to the Chandka Bridge.

The meeting was attended by Larkana Commissioner Tahir Sangi, PPP Sindh President Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, MNA Khursheed Junejo, PPP Larkana district president MNA Nazeer Bughio, Jamil Soomro, the political secretary to Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, MPAs Adil Unnar and Suhail Anwar Siyal, Larkana district council chairman Aijaz Leghari, Special Assistant to the CM and PPP district general secretary Khair Mohammad Shaikh and others.
