RAHIM YAR KHAN: Hybrid seeds and modern scientific research are urgently needed to increase agricultural production in Pakistan, says the Seeds Association of Pakistan (SAP).

Association Chairman Rana Salman Mehmood Khan was talking to newsmen here the other day after his return from China where he led a delegation of farm experts from RY Khan.

The visit was arranged by the government through the Seeds and Agriculture Department. The March 17-23 global moot was attended by agricultural experts, scientists and representatives of companies engaged in seed production.

Rana Salman said their team highlighted challenges facing Pakistan’s agricultural sector, the importance of modern seeds and new research.

During the conference, RY Khan SAP members met with various agricultural companies and research institutes in China, which discussed modern hybrid seeds, methods of increasing production and modern scientific research.
