MUZAFFARGARH: Two brothers died in a tunnel they had dug for stealing oil from the Parco (Pak-Arab Refinery) pipeline in the Pati Jhandir area of Sananwan Police Station on Saturday.

Police and rescue teams reached the spot and took out the bodies from the deep tunnel.

According to rescue a stolen clamp was installed on the Parco pipeline and both brothers got trapped inside while installing the clamp and lost their lives under mud.

Parco officers also reached the spot. The bodies were shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Kot Addu for a post-mortem.

One of the deceased was identified as Abdul Ghafoor (38), a resident of village Pati Ghulam Ali while information was missing about his 35-year-old brother. It is not for the first time that a theft incident of the Parco pipeline surfaced.

An official said that when the accused are arrested, very little fine is imposed on them with minor punishment but they steal oil worth millions of rupees.

BURNT ALIVE: A young man was burnt alive when the fire erupted in his grocery shop that had a petrol unit at Mahmood Kot on the Kot Addu Road.

Police along with Rescue 1122 managed to control the fire. The initial investigation shows that the fire was caused by a short circuit. The young man, who could not be identified, got trapped in the shop while the fire spread.
