GUJRAT: For the first time, an air ambulance of Rescue 1122 shifted a patient with severe burns from Faisalabad to Gujrat on Thursday for his treatment in the burns unit at the Kharian Combined Military Hospital (CMH).

According to a Rescue 1122 official, the emergency service’s air ambulance carrying a patient suffering severe burns on his face and neck from Faisalabad city landed on the airstrip here.

The patient, he said, had “burn-induced hyperemia” whereas the other parts of his upper body were also affected by the burns.

When the air ambulance landed at the airstrip, a team of local Rescue 1122, along with an ambulances, was present there, which immediately shifted the patient to the burns centre of the Kharian CMH for further treatment.

A spokesman for Rescue 1122 said the operation of shifting the patient was completed in a highly-professional way, which is a proof of professional skills of the emergency rescue service staff.

The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz had launched the air ambulance facility across the province around a year ago.
