SUKKUR/LARKANA: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) and a growers’ organisation, the Sindh Abadgar Ittehad (SAI), have announced their separate plans to hold sit-ins against the controversial canals on Saturday (April 26).

JUI-F’s Sukkur, Shikarpur and Khairpur districts made the announcement after a joint meeting in Sukkur.

It was chaired by Maulana Naimatullah Sheikh.

The party’s central leaders Maulana Mohammad Sualeh Indhar, Allama Nasir Mahmood Soomro, Abdul Hameed Mehar, Maulana Tayyab Mekho, Qari Liaquat Ali and others attended the meeting.

The announcement said that the party’s sit-in would be held at the Rohri section of the motorway.

In Larkana, leaders of the Sindh Abadgar Ittehad (SAI) announced at a press conference in the local press club that a big public meeting and sit-in would be held in Qambar-Shahdadkot district against the controversial canals.

The press conference was addressed by Mohsin Ali Qazi, Mohammed Ali Hakro of PTI and former GDA MPA Moazzim Abbasi.
