HYDERABAD, May 11: A bench of the Sindh High Court, Hyderabad, on Wednesday summoned the attorney-general and the advocate-general of Sindh on May 16 to explain their position regarding non-implementation of court orders requiring authorities concerned to disclose the whereabouts of Mohammad Umer picked up by law-enforcement personnel in August 2004.

The bench of Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali and Justice Yasmin Abbasi was hearing a plea filed by Mohammad Siddiq, seeking recovery of his son.

Hakim Ali Siddiqui, standing counsel for the federation, and the additional advocate-general of Sindh were present in the court.

The court said officers concerned would contact the head of army intelligence posted at Hyderabad to apprise him about the grievance of the petitioner and would make a statement in writing about his stand on the whereabouts of the petitioner’s son as well as about Major Abdul Majeed Lashari/ Abdul Qadir Mehar of military intelligence.
