KHAIRPUR, May 12: Owing to shortage of irrigation water in the Sukkur Barrage, the executive engineer west division, Khairpur, has announced a water rotation programme.

According to a handout issued here on Thursday, the minors of group one, including Rahuja minor, Abid, Kingri, Bodli, Faridabad, Ahmedpur, Bhatti, Allahdad, Dinal, Toori, Hamarji minors, Lalan system, Faiz Nahar and direct outlets of X-regulator from DS Jamsher to DS Ripri which were opened on May 9, will be closed on May 17.

In group two, channels, including Khabar minor, Babarloi, Kapri, Phul Wahan, Priyaloi, Hyder, Salar, Jamsher minors, Faiz wah system, Abul wah and direct outlets from Jamsher X-regulator which were scheduled to open on May 17, will be closed on May 25.

Meanwhile, a delegation of growers of the Ali Bahar wah met with District Nazim Niaz Hussain Shah Jilani here on Thursday.

They told the nazim that their crops have almost dried up due to non-availability of water at tail-ends of the Ali Bahar wah whereas on recording their protest, the DSP of Mirwah has lodged a case against them.

The district nazim assured them of supply of irrigation water at tail-ends of the Ali Bahar wah.

KILLED: One person was killed and his body was buried in a ditch outside his house, few months ago.

A case has been registered with Sorah police on Thursday night.

Arab, brother of the deceased Koombhoo, lodged an FIR against Foto, Sheroo, Kirshan, Jagoo all Bheel by caste, and residents of the Ibrahim village, Nara taluka that his brother along with his family had migrated from Khipro, Sanghar district, some three months ago and was residing in neighbourhood of the accused where the accused killed him with spades and axes and buried his body outside his house.

He further stated in the FIR that Ms Kasoomi, wife of the deceased, and her daughter Khairan were held hostage by the accused, who somehow reached at the house of a relative and narrated the ordeal.
