MULTAN, May 12: An FIR Registration Reporting Centre has been set up in Multan with inspector (legal) Malik Riaz Khalid as its head to help complainants get the reports registered in case of unnecessary delay.
Some 250 such centres will be set up across Punjab to redress grievances of the people in case they get no response from the police stations on applications for registration of FIRs. The development has taken place on the orders of Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi. The FRRC in Multan has been set up at the DPO’s office.
The people facing difficulties in getting FIRs registered would be able to move applications to the FRRC where the inspector (legal) would issue recommendations for registration of cases and the police stations were bound to implement them, said Malik Riaz.—APP
