HYDERABAD, May 21: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf Sindh president Zubair Khan has criticized the Sindh government for refusing permission to the party to hold a public meeting in Nawabshah on May 24.

Speaking at a news conference at the Hyderabad press club on Sunday, he said that the chairman of the party, Imran Khan, would undertake a tour of Sindh from May 23 to 26.

He said that he had applied for the permission which had not been granted though the government parties were holding public meetings wherever they liked and the entire government machinery was being used for the meetings.

Mr Khan said that it was democratic right of the party to hold the public meeting which would be held according to schedule come what may.

He said that if the government tried to undermine the democratic right, it would be held responsible for the consequences.

He said that the Musharraf government had failed on all fronts and that if the government was not removed, the consequences would be disastrous for Pakistan.

He said that the PTI was neither a part of the ARD nor the MMA but it would support decisions of opposition parties for the restoration of democracy and removal of the government.
