THATTA, June 4: The central president of the Hari Committee of the Sindh National Front, Sher Khan Lund, passed away after a prolonged illness here on Sunday. He was 62. He was the first member of the Communist Party of Pakistan from Mirpur Bathoro taluka.
In 1977, he joined the Awami Tehrik and the Pakistan National Party of Mir Ghous Bux Khan Bizenjo.
He was arrested and jailed during the Movement for Resto-ration of Democracy.
Sher Khan remained behind bars for ten years during different dictatorial and political governments.
He was popular among the nationalist parties for highlighting problems of Sindh.
He also remained an adviser to the government of Sindh during Mumtaz Ali Bhutto’s tenure as the chief minister.
He leaves behind two sons and two daughters.
A large number of people from different walks of life attended his funeral.
He was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard in Lund village.
