HYDERABAD, June 9: The Sindh Para-Veterinary Staff Association has appealed to Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim to grant grade-11 and grade-17 to stock assistants of the livestock department.
Speaking at a press conference at the press club here on Friday, the chairman of the association, Mithal Massan, Mumtaz Shaikh and Ismail Lakho said that field assistants of the agriculture department and stock assistants of the livestock department received two years’ training at the Agriculture Training Institute in Sakrand and the Agriculture Training Institute in Jacobabad.
They said that field assistants and stock assistants had similar qualification but later were appointed in grade-6.
They said that the job of the stock assistant was more laborious yet field assistants had been promoted to grade-11 and 20 per cent of them had been promoted to grade-17.
They said that stock assistants retired at the most in grade-9.
They appealed to the Sindh chief minister to announce similar policy for stock assistants as there was no difference in qualifications and training of field assistants of the agriculture department and stock assistants of the livestock department.
