HYDERABAD, June 12: The president of the Sindh chapter of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal, MNA Asadullah Bhutto, has said the government has unleashed propaganda against the Hudood Ordinance at the behest of the US and Israel.

He said that the demolition of old villages in urban areas would not be allowed under any circumstances.

He was speaking at the “Sindh Bachao” seminar here on Sunday.

The seminar was organised by the local chapter of the MMA.

He said that so-called relief announced in the budget for low-grade employees and workers was just a pittance.

He said that forced closure of shops and business centres in Karachi at 8pm was tantamount to economic murder of the people of Karachi.

He said that the MMA through a strong movement would remove the government of Gen Pervez Musharraf in Islamabad and the MQM-led coalition in Sindh.

MPA Younus Barai, Hameedullah, advocate, MPA Rehman Rajput, Maulana Yousuf Kasuri, Abdul Waheed Qureshi and Maulana Taj Mohammad Nahiyoon also spoke on the occasion.

Mr Bhutto alleged that a particular party was involved in the Nishtar Park carnage which had been given a licence to do whatever it liked to further the American and Zionist agenda.

He criticised the government propaganda against Hudood Ordinance, demolition of old villages, murders of students in educational institutions, proposed construction of Kalabagh dam and load-shedding.

He said that despite a lapse of two months, the perpetrators of Nishtar Park carnage had not been arrested though the Sunni Tehrik and Sunni Rehbar Council had clearly identified the party responsible for the carnage.

He demanded that the Sindh governor and the home minister should be removed to improve the law and order situation in Sindh.
