HYDERABAD, June 14: Hyderabad Electric Supply Company teams disconnected power supply to 25 consumers after it found during a campaign against power thieves and defaulters in Qasimabad that their meters had been tampered with.
The teams paid surprise visits to Bhittai Nagar, Bhittai Town, Hur Camp and a number of other localities in Qasimabad where they found meters had been tampered with and immediately disconnected their power.
The team recommended that Hesco impose heavy fines on power thieves.
The Hesco authorities warned the defaulters to pay up their bills to avoid disconnection. It also warned those who had illegal power connections to get their connections regularized or risk facing criminal cases.—Bureau
