PESHAWAR, July 12: Federal Political Affairs Minister Amir Muqam said on Wednesday the government was paying special attention to development of neglected areas in the NWFP and the president and the prime minister were committed to providing maximum relief to the poor.

He was talking to a 20-member delegation from Swabi at his residence in Islamabad. PML leader Ghafoor Khan Jadoon led the delegation.

The minister accorded approval to various schemes regarding natural gas, electricity and clean drinking water for Gandaf area of the Swabi district.

He said the country had become economically and financially strong and stable owing to people-friendly policies, adding that the completion of mega-projects would further boost the economic base.

He said the PML was working hard to mitigate sufferings of people. Referring to problems mentioned by the delegation, Mr Muqam said they would be addressed on a priority basis.—APP
