THATTA, July 15: The Thatta district and sessions judge has summoned the district police officer (DPO), Sujawal town police officer (TPO) and the station house officers (SHOs) of the coastal towns of Chuhar Jamali and Ladion to appear before the court on July 17.

The court has issued them notices in reply to a petition against the alleged wrongful confinement of Maheruddin Mari, a correspondent of a Sindhi daily for Golarchi, Badin district.

Balach Mari, father of the missing journalist, in his petition has held DPO Ghulam Hyder Jamali, TPO Haji Rasheed Serai, and SHOs of Chuhar Jamali Nazir Magsi and that of Ladion Khadim Jamari responsible for the arrest and wrongful confinement of his son for a couple of weeks and for keeping him incommunicado.
