HYDERABAD, July 17: Members of school teachers’ associations and lower staff marched and staged a sit-in in protest against what they said a false case registered against central vice-chairman of the Sindh Employees Union, Amanullah Teghani.

Primary Teachers Association, Masjid School Teachers Association and Government School Teachers Association participated in the protest held on the Hyderabad-Badin road in Tando Muhammad Khan.

Speaking on the occasion, Tando Muhammad Khan PTA district president Mumtaz Baladi, Allah Dino Veesaro, Wazir Ahmed Keerio and Nawaz Nizamani said tribal disputes were destroying Sindh.

They said Amanullah Teghani, who is also central president of the Masjid School Teachers Association, had been falsely implicated in the Teghani-Ogahi tribal dispute.

They said Teghani was living in Tando Muhammad Khan for 10 years and he had nothing to do with the ongoing tribal war.

They called upon the Sindh government to take serious notice of the registration of a false case against Teghani to end unrest among teachers.

Speaking to reporters, Amanullah Teghani said he had been falsely implicated in the case as he had nothing to do with any tribal dispute.

CONDEMNED: Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party chairman Dr Qadir Magsi has severly criticised the alleged excesses of the Dadu jail authorities against party leader Gulzar Soomro.

They were not allowing even relatives to meet Mr Soomro nor he was hospitalised despite the advice of doctors.

If any harm came to Gulzar Soomro, the responsibility for the consequences would rest on the shoulders of the Dadu district administration and the Sindh government, he warned.

HUNGER STRIKE: Activists of the PPP-SB staged a demonstration and observed a hunger strike outside the Hyderabad Press Club here on Monday against delay in the arrest of the murderers of Iqbal Naich, the taluka president of the party, Qambar.
