KARACHI, July 19: Eight affiliated units of Pakistan Amateur Basketball Federation (PABBF) ad hoc committee have confirmed their participation in the National Women’s Basketball Tournament which is being held at the indoor court of the NSTCC from July 23 to 27.

Cagers from defending champions Wapda, Sindh, Punjab, NWFP, Balochistan, Islamabad, Azad Kashmir and Higher Education Commission (HEC)are set to compete in the tournament.

Hosts Sindh and Punjab will field two outfits each in the competition which is to be played on single league basis. The teams will be drawn into four pools and the leaders of each pool will make it to the pre-final, secretary, Karachi City District Amateur Basketball Association (KCDABBA), Abdul Nasir said on Wednesday.

Outlining the salient features at a press conference on Wednesday he disclosed the organisers were awaiting confirmation from KESC, Police and Railways.

The boarding and lodging arrangements of the provincial teams have been made at the Jinnah University College (JUC) A-Level programme who are also the main sponsors of the event.
