RAWALPINDI: A high-powered committee to review the investigation of Hina Javed murder case on Friday grilled her husband and domestic servant in Adiala jail and met the family members of the deceased.

The committee consists of Additional IG Crime Control Department (CCD) Sohail Chatta, DIG Lahore Shoaib Khurram Janbaz and SSP Investigation Rawalpindi Saifullah.

The AIG CCD Sohail Zafar Chatta and DIG Lahore Shoaib Khurram Janbaz came to Rawalpindi on Thursday, while SSP Investigation Rawalpindi Saifullah joined them on Friday.

Sources said the three-member committee on Friday investigated the husband and domestic servant of Hina and also visited the crime scene.

Furthermore, the committee members also interviewed the family of the deceased Hina Javed, 45, who was found murdered in her house in Rawalpindi on August 21, and a case of the incident was registered at the Civil Lines police station.

“The committee will analyse the forensic report’s findings, though they had already been analysing case files which had already been sent to them in Lahore,” said a source.

He said that there is no deadline to submit their report because there are some reports which are awaited. The two members of the team who had come from Lahore returned to the provincial capital on Friday night.

The Rawalpindi police have received reports of forensic samples in the murder case of Hina Javed and the final post-mortem report which contain the cause of her death, torturing and other crucial evidence.

According to sources, the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PSFA) found crucial and startling evidence of the domestic servant’s role in Hina Javed’s gruesome murder. On the PSFA’s findings, however, the police authorities remained tight lipped.

.Initial postmortem examination and police report had suggested that Ms Hina Javed’s body was found lying in the washroom of her apartment with signs of torture as there was “strangulation mark around her neck; injury below on her right lip and her nose was bleeding”.

The Rawalpindi CPOHassan Mushtaq Sukhera had formed a special investigation team to investigate the high-profile case, but Hina Javed’s family had also written letters to the Parliamentary Caucus Committee and the National Commission for Human Rights, expressing reservations over the Rawalpindi police investigation.
