KARACHI: Banking Mohtasib Pakistan Sirajuddin Aziz has said fraudulent activities are widespread and pose a significant risk to banks and their clients.

In a statement on Monday, Mr Aziz said his office disposed of over 29,001 complaints during January-September of CY2026, awarding complainants Rs1.2 billion.

The Banking Mohtasib received 33,625 new complaints during the period, including 5,927 from the Prime Minister’s Portal.

To protect the public from rampant fraud, Mr Aziz urged banking customers to safeguard their financial credentials, including account details, and not disclose them to any third party.

He also advised them not to click links on their mobile phones unless they are confirmed to be from a reliable, authentic source.
