Shepherd shot dead in Dadu

DADU, July 31: A 24-year-old shepherd, Badruddin Khoso, was shot dead by some people when his cattle wandered into a paddy crop in Wadho Khoso village, Mehar taluka on Monday.

Mehar police have registered an FIR against seven men.

SUICIDE: Ali Nawaz, 18, committed suicide by consuming pesticides after his parents refused to give him money to buy books in Dadu town, reports said on Monday.

Reports said that late Ali Nawaz demanded Rs500 from his parents to purchase books. When they refused, he ended his life in utter frustration.

BREACH: Paddy crop on 300 acres and more than 100 houses were flooded when Radhan Shakh developed a 50 foot breach near Jam Zardari village, Mehar taluka on Monday.

Villagers and irrigation officials later plugged the breach.

ELECTROCUTED: Seven-year-old Abdul Hafeez Jatoi was electrocuted in Butra village in Dadu taluka on Monday when he touched a live wire in his house.

POLLS: The Sindh Graduates Association (SGA), Dadu chapter, elected its office-bearers under the supervision of Dost Ali Jessar on Monday.

According to results, Dr Salahuddin Lakhiar was elected president, Faqir Mohammad Junejo vice-president, Naib Bux Samoo general secretary, Bashir Ahmed Soomro joint secretary, Imam Bux Mangi treasure and Wazir Ahmed Mangi, information secretary.
