HYDERABAD, Aug 3: District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil has directed Wasa officials to install additional pumping machines in different areas of the Qasimabad taluka to drain out rainwater.

These directives were issued during his visit to Abdullah Blessings, Abdullah Town, HDA bungalows, Chandio Goth, Gulistan-i-Sajjad and Bhittai Town on Thursday.

Qasimabad taluka nazim Noor Mohammad Shoro, Wasa MD Kafeel Ahmed, executive engineer Basheer Awan and other officials accompanied the nazim.

The Wasa MD told the district nazim that during the last few days, 97mm of rain was recorded in Hyderabad which was unusual.

He said that since generators and diesel trolleys had been put in place at all pumping stations, work to drain out rainwater had continued round the clock.

He said that some water had accumulated in low-lying areas.

The district nazim directed the Wasa MD to drain out accumulated water within the minimum possible time.

BISE: The controller of examinations of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Hyderabad has announced that the last date for receipt of SSC part-II (matriculation) supplementary examination 2006 forms has been fixed as September 5.

He said that the date for those candidates who had to qualify additional subject of biology after passing matric computer science examination 2006 has been fixed as August 21.

He said that the supplementary examination would commence on September 26, while practical examination would be held on October 3.

SMEDA: The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) opened its legal service panel in the city on Monday to provide legal services to the small entrepreneurs.

Speaking as chief guest, MPA and legal adviser to the district government, Aslam Pervez Advocate, urged the SMEDA’s legal experts to open an office at the Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry so that the members could have easy access to the authority.

The senior vice-president of the chamber, Azizuddin Arain, praised the SMEDA’s decision to open its legal service panel in the city and said that the authority’s efforts had brought about a visible change in the small and medium enterprises.
