BHC verdict suspended

QUETTA, Aug 4: The Supreme Court on Friday suspended the Balochistan High Court’s verdict and the provincial government’s notification through which resignation of Khuzdar District Nazim Sardar Nasir Musiani was accepted.

A bench comprising Justice Javed Iqbal and Justice Raja Fayyaz Ahmed, on the appeal of Sardar Musiani, ordered that the verdict of the BHC rejecting an appeal of the petitioner against the acceptance of his resignation by the provincial government would remain suspended till further orders.

The provincial local government department had issued the notification accepting the resignation tendered by Sardar Musiani. The appellant had filed an appeal in the high court denying that he had submitted the resignation but the BHC had rejected the appeal. The court ordered issuance of notices to the provincial election commission, chief secretary and local government secretary and adjourned the hearing.—Staff Correspondent
