KARACHI, Aug 5: An anti-terrorism court on Saturday adjourned hearing of the Madinatul Ilm suicide bombing case against two activists of Lashkar-i-Jhangvi after examination of prosecution witness.

Mohammad Tehseen alias Arshad and Mohammad Altaf alias Mufti are arraigned for their alleged involvement in the suicide bombing at Imambargah in Gulshan-i-Iqbal which left three persons, including a police head constable, dead and more than 22 others wounded on May 30, 2005.

Police inspector Irfan Zaman, who arrested Tehseen alias Arshad in injured condition after a shootout outside the Imambargah, recorded his statement. He was cross-examined by defence counsel Mushtaq Ahmed and Amir Mansoob Qureshi.

The ATC headed by Saghir Hussain Zaidi after the examination of the witness put off the hearing till Aug 7.

Asif was killed by police when he came with other co-accused for attacking the Imambargah while the alleged suicide bomber managed to enter the Imambargah and blew himself up.—PPI
