LARKANA: Mumtaz slams govt

Published August 8, 2006

LARKANA, Aug 7: The chairman of Sindh National Front, Mumtaz Ali Bhutto, said on Monday that people should not expect the government to face up to the threat of flood. Talking to a number of delegations at Mirpur Bhutto he said that instead of getting ready to fight the flood the rulers were busy resolving their petty differences while lounging in their cosy rooms in Islamabad.

The rulers were only interested in getting SHOs and mukhtiarkars transferred and posted and were least concerned about people’s sufferings, he remarked. People should not expect much from the rulers who had not only deprived them of their basic needs but also failed to provide them health and education facilities, he advised.
